Joan Ryan MP has written to Transport for London’s (TfL) Director of London Overground to raise concerns about poor performance on the lines serving Enfield.
A number of constituents have contacted Ms Ryan, over recent weeks, regarding a series of train cancellations and delays to the service at Enfield Town and Turkey Street stations.
In her letter to TfL Director, Mike Stubbs, Joan Ryan said “passengers have a right to expect a better and more reliable service”, given that it is now seven months since London Overground took over the West Anglia suburban rail routes.
Ms Ryan has asked Mr Stubbs for an “urgent response and explanation” for the recent poor performance and has urged London Overground to “improve standards and passenger satisfaction.”
Rt. Hon Joan Ryan MP, Labour’s Member of Parliament for Enfield North, said:
“Local commuters who have contacted me in recent weeks have expressed genuine anger and frustration at London Overground’s performance.
It is not acceptable that services to and from Enfield Town and Turkey Street stations are still blighted by poor punctuality or cancellations.
London Overground must deliver on their promise to provide a better service to passengers and I look forward receiving Mr Stubbs’ prompt response to the concerns I have raised with him.”
