Joan Ryan MP visits North Enfield Foodbank

Joan Ryan MP has visited the North Enfield Foodbank and met with Trussell Trust volunteers.

It was great to visit the North Enfield Foodbank, run by the Trussell Trust, and to meet so many volunteers. I pay tribute to the immensely valuable work that they do.

It is shocking that, according to the latest research by the Trust, Enfield now has the fourth highest foodbank usage in London. That is not a record of which the Government can be proud, as their policies are widening the gap significantly between rich and poor and driving so many children into abject poverty.

I am working with organisations like the Trussell Trust to highlight the scale of this issue and to ensure that children in Enfield have access to nutritious food 365 days a year.
