Joan Ryan MP has made her first school visit of 2017, as she met with pupils and staff at Brimsdown Primary School.

It was great to spend time with pupils and staff at Brimsdown Primary School today - my first school visit of 2017.

It has been a few years since I last visited Brimsdown, but it is clear to me that staff have worked very hard to get the improvements that were acknowledged by Ofsted in their inspection last year.

Brimsdown is a good school, with outstanding leadership, pupil behaviour and provision of early years education.

Good and outstanding are words that you always want to hear associated with schools – in the case of Brimsdown Primary School, this praise is fully justified.

I went on a walkabout of the school with Associate Headteacher Dani Lang and in every classroom I saw focused, hardworking and engaged pupils, who all demonstrated exemplary behaviour and a passion to learn.

For this achievement all credit must be given to the pupils, parents and staff at Brimsdown, in particular the Executive Headteacher Matthew Kleinner-Mann and Associate Headteacher Dani Lang, who are dedicated to maintaining a happy and settled learning environment.

It was a pleasure to meet so many talented and enthusiastic pupils and members of staff – I’m very proud of what they have achieved together.
