Joan Ryan MP raises pressure on ministers to support Crossrail 2

Joan Ryan MP has tabled an Early Day Motion in Parliament to show her support for Crossrail 2 and urge the government to give the project the green light.

I tabled a motion in Parliament today to show my strong support for Crossrail 2 – a project that is crucial to the growth and prosperity of Enfield, London and the rest of the country.

Crossrail 2 will provide a £150 billion boost to the UK’s economy, support 200,000 new jobs and relieve intolerable pressure on our tube and rail networks.

The project is vital in addressing the housing crisis in London and the South and will open up major new areas for development in the Upper Lea Valley, including Enfield.

The Tory Government cannot continue to ignore the growing demand for this project. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has already shown how London can pay half of the cost. It’s time Ministers stopped dithering and gave Crossrail 2 their full support.
