Joan Ryan MP pays respects to Cllr. Turgut Esendagli

I was very sad to learn of the death of Turgut Esendagli, on Thursday 12th October.

I offer my condolences and best wishes to his wife, Nurcan, and to his family and friends.

I know how honoured he was to become a Labour Councillor in Enfield, and he was proud to represent his local area and the people of Highway ward.

Turgut was well known and played an important role in the Turkish Community Football Federation. He took a keen interest in the wellbeing of young people, encouraging them to take part in sport and to be actively involved in their community.

Whilst Turgut suffered from some serious health issues in later years, he always dealt with his condition with dignity and humour.

He will be missed by the community in Enfield.
